Supported apps (examples)
| App | Notes |
|---|---|
| Google Authenticator | Simple TOTP codes |
| Microsoft Authenticator | Codes + push approvals (when supported) |
| Authy | Multi-device + optional cloud backup |

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Code invalid | Typo or wrong account | Wait for a fresh code and re-enter carefully |
| Codes always wrong | Phone time is out of sync | Enable Set automatically for date/time on your phone |
| Can’t scan QR | Camera blocked or low light | Use Enter key manually instead |
| Lost phone | Device unavailable | Use backup codes or contact support to reset 2FA |
Tip — If codes fail repeatedly, resync your authenticator time (most apps have a “Time correction” option).
Best practices
- Store backup codes safely (password manager)
- Add a second factor (e.g., hardware key) for recovery
- Avoid SMS as primary — use only as fallback
